By-Law Changes:
The SJLA Executive is proposing changes to the existing SJLA By-Laws. The proposed changes are:
ARTICLE V – GOVERNMENT OF THE SJLA
Change 2 years to 1 year – The nominees must be members in good standing for at least 1 year, which means they must have abided by all the by-laws especially the attendance record.
ARTICLE X – AMENDMENTS
Add – Changes to the by-laws will be read at a general meeting, followed-up with an email notice to all SJLA members. Voting will take place at the next general meeting.
Add – ARTICLE XII – SPECIAL MEETING
The President can call a special meeting if he or she feels it is necessary. The meeting can either be in person or via teleconference call.
Airport Issues
Atlantic City International Airport – Follow commercial vehicle signs. At this time there is no charge to drop off or pick up passengers.

Sales Tax Update
The Sales Tax is hurting the Limousine Industry. Barry Lekfowitz will send out an email list – please follow up with phone calls to important legislature. Out of state operators are not collecting sales tax. Make sure you submitted, by February 23, 2007, your 4th quarter revenues and tax amount. Even though a lawsuit is still pending on the NJ Sales Tax, an agreement has been reached. The Sales Tax will only apply to trips that stay completely in the State of New Jersey and all charges except gratuity will be taxed. November 20, 2006 is the due date for the first tax payment. Donations are still being accepted for the Defense Fund to Repeal the New Jersey Sales Tax.
